According to the Chilton repair manual, it seems that the fuel filter for my
2003 CR-V is inside the fuel tank.  It looks like it's inside the fuel
pump/fuel gauge sending unit.  Has anyone changed his fuel filter?  How hard
is it to do?

Thanks!

Two fuel filters are in the tank and one other is outside
it.

For the two in the tank, see:

For the one outside it, which is more likely the one that is
supposed to be regularly changed, see part #9 at:

(Backtrack from these sites to put in your exact model of
CR-V.)

why do you want to change filters on a 2003?  what problems are you
experiencing?
Nino NoSpam - 24 Jun 2006 01:35 GMT
Actually, I'm not experiencing any problems Jim.  I just thought that at
48,000 Kms it needed to be changed?

absolutely not.  they have sufficient crud absorption capacity for
several hundred thousand miles under normal usage.  leave it alone!
some euro cars don't even have changeable filters these days.

If it sputters while trying to pass while climbing a hill at highway
speed while carrying five people and a big ski box on top, you should
change it.

Otherwise, forget it.
