Has anyone had any luck with aftermarket electric window regulators?
(drivers side on a 2 door)

I bought one and replaced it last June, and the POS has already broken.
Nevermind the fact that it only lasted 12 months, this car hardly gets
driven, so the window was probably used only   50-75 times. I'm in
Florida so the windows are up most of the time with the AC going.

OEM is $150 the aftermarket was $75. I know, IF I had bought an OEM I
wouldn't be spending another $75. But like I said, this car doesn't get
driven that much, and the window gets used even less. I will go with
OEM unless someone can steer me in the direction of a good aftermarket
product.

This is where I bought the last one

FWIW, it appears you may have the OEM part for around $120
total at places like slhonda.com , hondaautomotiveparts.com
(a.k.a. "Majestic"), and cheapesthondaparts.com .
Cheapesthondaparts.com probably has the best deal, but call
them two days after your internet order and get a tracking
number. If the outcome is totally unsat, then let the higher
ups know and ask for reasonable compensation. They'll come
through but at least one of their folks needs a bit of
watching. I'm sure they'll get better with time.

slhonda and Majestic have been more reliable for me.

No junkyards in your area? They might beat the aftermarket
price and give you an OEM part as well.

Thanks, I'll take a look at what those sites have. Honda's are
NORTORIOUS for failing
window regulators, so used is not an option. This will make the 4th
time that I've had to replace a regulator. The factory one(s) lasted
for 6 yrs, (both went out within a month of each other) so I replaced
both of them with OEM regulators and the drivers side only lasted for 4
yrs. So I replaced it last June with an aftermarket and it's already
failed. Good ole plastic parts. You would think that Honda would fix
the problem, but I guess they like making money selling parts. Isn't
that what American cars are made for? : )

how are they failing? stripped gears? is the motor burning out? maybe
some spray silicone lubricant in the window channels would help the
window go up and take some strain off the motors and gears?

It's where the cable ends fit into a piece of plastic that pulls the
window up and down.

Hard to explain unless you have seen one. Just a bad design.

That's OK, I'll take bad window regulators over engine or tranny
problems anyday!
