I keep experiencing this problem with my Honda's alarm.  I went to open
the door today and the alarm started going off.  I had not armed it as
it was parked in my garage.  I could not get it to turn off right away.
I finally got it to turn off when I put the key in the ignition,
turned it to the on position and pushed the lock button while trying to
start it.  Now I cannot re-arm the alarm.  Not sure why I keep
experiencing this.  Any ideas?  Thinking I should just remove the
factory alarm and get an aftermarket one.

There is no factory alarm for that car.  The dealership put it in and
they sometimes do a terrible job.

Remove the panels near the driver's footrest and the steering wheel.  I
bet you'll find a bunch of splices and loose wires that have broken.  If
the alarm is in the footrest panel you might as well throw it out
because a that's the first thing a thief will smash.
