Decided to sell my 2000 Insight with 58,000 miles and someone pointed
out that some insights have had a problem with the computer and oxygen
sensor.  Looking back, the ECU and ECM have already been replaced, but
the check engine light has gone on several times since then with no
real problem identified...The word "lemon" was uttered....How can it
be?  I loved the car and took it into the shop as needed.....thinking
back....did it need it too much?  Any similar experiences out there?

When the check engine light comes on you have to read out the codes from the
computer with an OBDII scanner. This and only this will give an indication
where the problem is. It could be as simple as a loose gas cap  but could be
any of hundreds of other items monitored by the computer. So instead of
crying over it here take it to a qualified mechanic and have it diagnosed
properly.....

it is exceedingly rare for there to be ecu/ecm module faults.  always
always always seek second or even third opinions when you're being told
there's such a problem.  go to a better shop and make sure the vehicle
is examined by a senior experienced mechanic.  sometimes independent
shops have better honda talent than dealerships because dealer pay rates
are frequently only good for young trainees.
