Mine is an 97 Nissan Altima SE. It runs fine, but recently I see that
the brake light on the dashboard comes on during mornings when it is
cold. It does not come on in the afternoon or in the evenings. Only in
the morning, it does. I live in Atlanta, which is not too cold. I got
my brake inspection done at PepBoys here and they said that the brakes
are absolutely fine. Upon asking, the mechanic also said that there is
no need to flush the brake fluid. I observed there aren't any leakages
too. The mechanic said that it is some electrical problem, might be
some switch, relay, etc. Please help me with this. I do not know how
serious is this electrical thing, where to get it checked and how much
it might cost.
Thanks in Advance.

Here's a similar problem addressed by another Japanese automaker. Maybe
it will help with your Nissan?

Two things to check. Low fluid level in the master cylinder due to pad wear
will cause intermittent brake light. Also check the parking brake switch as
it may be bad or not adjusted correctly.
