If no, then press and hold the homelink button you want to program till the light turns on solid. Then use the opener within 8 inches so the car can learn it. If yes, then follow above. Once done, (so the car can learn the algorithm), then follow the garage door openers instructions to learn the car to the opener. What does hopping mean??? > What does hopping mean??? Older garage door openers send out the same code everytime. Newer openers change the code on each button press following an algorithm so that a code grabber can't capture the code and open the door later on. That is called code hopping. Gotcha!
