Does anyone know if the Factory XM for either the accord or the civic is fm
modulated or not? I have fm modulated xm in my civic which i put in after
and its not that clear as regular radio or cd sometimes. If I was to get the
factory one and be spending all that money on it, i'd rather make sure its
not fm modulated.

The accord factory xm is 725.00 and the civic is 304.00, and I got mine
installed for about 140.00 which included the unit and instalation except
its fm modulated.

Factory XM is never FM modulated -- always directly connected.

Having had directly connected (factory) in an Infiniti, versus both
wired and wireless modulated, I can say that you should opt for the
factory unit.  Sound quality is excellent and the integration with the
headunit is, too.  Worth the extra $$$.

Well thats good to know, then I'll probably get the factory unit next time,
because mine is wireless FM modulated and I heard the hardwired FM modulated
isnt that much better. The other thing is I am afraid to bring my car
through the drive through "cloth" car wash because I have a magnetic antenna
for xm right above the front windsheild and the installer told me that you
cannot bring this through the carwash.
