We have a 2002 Accord EX V-6 4dr.  The display that shows the temp, etc does
not illuminate.
At first, the dealer said that the bulb could be relpaced.  Now they say the
entire heater control
unit must be replaced at +$600.00.  Is this possible?  They changed the bulb
in the clock for a
few dollars.  Thanks for all help!

Check the diagrams at www.slhondaparts.com to see if the bulbs are shown
seperately.

>From your description I believe that you have the fully automatic
temperature control. From what I can find this unit has no servicable
parts. If you had the manual heater control there is an easy bulb to
change. I would try to find a used unit from an auto recycler in your
area. If you find a good recycler, they can put your request on the
wire and find one for you if they don't have it. They will quote you a
price before you purchase it. Then either you can put it in, or have a
local competent auto mechanic put it in or pay the dealer for a new one.
