Factory recommended service intervals

Just bought me a new V6 Accord sedan (EX-L trim line) -- very nice car!

The supplied MANFACTURER maintenance booklet does not list the
MANUFACTURER-recommended time/mileage intervals for various services.
However, there is a separate booklet with DEALER-recommended service
intervals. I asked the dealer about that and he said there are no MFR
recommended intervals, just ones from the DEALER.

My experience over the years with various brands of cars is that DEALERS
generally recommend more frequent service intevals than the Manufacturer
does. No big surprise there since the dealer usually does the service.

So what's the deal? Has American Honda quit making service recommendations
for their vehicles??

you mean the DEALER who is an independent businessman and who profits by
convincing you to pay him money?

Gee, how convenient.

Does the owner's manual that came from Honda talk about a Maintenance
Minder?

A computer that keeps track of your driving conditions can do a far, far
better job of evaluating when maintenance is required than you can or
than a simple time/mileage schedule can.

And since the car is chock full of computers that are already measuring
everything necessary to do this, adding in a little light to tell you
when they've hit time for maintenance was easy.

The owner's link at www.honda.com has all of the info you would need
concerning maintenance requirements as well as the manual.

Maintenance lists are in the manual but there is no set mileage as the
maintenance computer tracks that stuff and your dash board lights will tell
you what is due and when.
