for as long as they don't want their technology stolen?  honda have
already gotten into legal fights over a cheap chinese rip-off of the crv
out there.

well, detroit's importing chinese componentry as fast as it can.  the
japanese aren't so enthusiastic it seems - only used for vehicles sold
there afaict.  problem is, the chinese won't allow you to sell in their
market unless you manufacture out there and allow them to rip off your
technology.
