Hi There, Can someone please tell me if there is a bearing on the flywheel for a D15B7 Civic Manual. Full details of the car are below. I have had a look at the Honda workshop manual and I cannont seem to find a bearing. The Haynes book does not also mention anything about a bearing. Although Exedy (clutch manufacturer) says that there is a pilot bearing so I am confused.... It is part of the transmission. It is a good idea to replace the bearing as part of a clutch replacement. It's very easy, having done it myself. dan there is a pilot bearing and a throwout bearing... both should be replaced when changing the clutch. I did get that backwards in my first post. The bearing surrounds the transmission shaft and is part of the transmission. At least that's the way it was on my '88 Accord. The PILOT bearing rides in the center of the flywheel and keeps the clutch centered and the transmission's shaft 'steady' (it's sometimes called the _steady_ bearing) . 'Curly' Hi All, Thanks for the info. I already have the throwout bearing so thats not a problem. The pilot bearing was show under the CLUTCH-TORQUE CONVERTER section that is why I could not find it.
