Because of your vehicles age you should do a drain-n-fill of the tranny
fluid anyhow, just be sure to use Honda Z1 ATF. The delay you describe
is fairly normal. DO NOT let anybody 'power flush' it. SEARCH for the
procedure.
The noise you hear may be a worn out sway bar link, but doubtful at your
mileage. Look at www.slhondaparts.com to see that part. You could just
try spraying some silicone (or white lithium grease) on the sway bar
bushings.

silicone, not lithium. the latter is petroleum based and it rots the
rubber.

Thanks for that good point. I guess silicone grease (like Syl-Glide
would be good though).

my experience with sylglide in this application was abysmal. seriously.
molykote33 is a "real" silicone and works well on bushings.

Thank you ppl for your replies. I have a question if I want to check myself
that the sway bar is ok or not what should I do? (I dont know much about
cars :)). Should I take it to a mechanic to have it checked or is there a
quick test that I can do on my own? Some time back the same sort of noise
was also coming from the steering but for some odd reason it disappeared
after the front brake change.
Thanks,
Wajahat
