Hi -
i replaced my working honda civic EX original radio with an afermarket
sony CD player. The best buy tech guy seemed to have done a good job
installing, until i discovered that the remote control lock for the
car doors stopped working. The battery in the hand unit seems to be
fine (the red light turns on when i click on any key). The in car door
lock switches are working fine.

The best buy tech claims that the remote unit needs to be programmed
by the dealer again. Is he right? Or is the remote control unit
(sensor) part of the original radio that I just replaced? Or could he
knocked off some other cable? Everything else in my wire seems to be
fine...

Would appreciate your comments,
Thanks in advance,
Praty

Like you were told yesterday in news:alt.autos.honda , the keyless entry
(and dome light control) are in the stock radio.  There is a way to have
both hooked up at the same time so you can have your new radio with your old
functionality.

Thanks Seth, for some reason that post was not showing up in my google
groups account (and i thought the posting was unsuccessful). i have
requested further details about connecting both systems in that post,
would appreciate your thoughts.

My thoughts are to tell them to fix it or give you a refund.  If they can't
install it correctly, go to a competent shop that can.
