Hi I need to get an airbag check done to see if my car has airbags because it was in an accident 5 years ago says insurance. I cant tell if theres an airbag in the steering wheel but It feels kind of hollow if i press in the middle of the wheel. Do all civics feel like this? My SRS airbag light comes on but goes off as soon as i start the car, as it should. Which leads me to believe my car is equipped with them. Your vehicle has a self-test system (like most others). If the light goes on for approx 6 seconds when you start the car, then goes off, yo have an airbag system and it is active and operating properly. Your car monitors this sytem constantly when you are driving and if there is a fault or a problem, the light will illuminate annd stay solid. If the igniter is there, you can be pretty sure the rest of the airbag is there too. |
