'03 Accord sedan - no start

I got nailed this morning - without any warning my car won't start,
sounded as though it went bad when I turned the key to Start. If I turn
the radio ON, I get "code" displayed (this was before I disconnected the
battery). When I turn the key to ON (II) I get a chirp like what my
computer makes when I plug in a USB device with Windows running. Another
chirp when I turn to Start (III) - no starter solenoid clicking, no fuel
pump sound, completely quiet except for 6 beeps (as though the car
wasn't running and I opened the driver's door with the key in the
ignition). I tried my other key, which made no difference. The + post on
my battery was badly corroded (why do they cover that thing up?), so I
neutralized it and cleaned both terminals. The ground strap is tight to
the body.

Are we talking main relay here?

Car is 4 cyls w/5 speed AT. I live in the NYC area and don't drive it
daily. It gets regular oil & filter changes, etc.

Suggestions or advice?

TIA

It could be you have a dead battery, depending on the model they do go
bad between 4-6years. Do you get a clicking sound when you try to
start your engine?

No clicking, Nick, but you're spot on - bad battery. I called a tow and
the driver suggested he try to jump start the car. I had a load check
done to make sure it was just the battery. The only way this could have
worked out better for me is if the tow truck driver paid me. :)

Thanks for the feedback.
