Transmission solenoid

My 2000 accord's tranny slips when it get to 5000 rpm. my mech told me
i would have to change 2 soleniods... i would liek to confirm if this
is true and also the price of these Transmission solenoids

if the D4 light was flashing, then it's the faulty trans solenoid. if
not, then tranmission slipping is often caused by low fluid level, or
improperly adjusted throttle valve cable aka kickdown cable

have no idea how much the solenoids would cost, did a quick check on
this site http://www.partstrain.com and they are $200 each. make sure
you ask for receipts and warranty on parts when you have your car fix,
most of the time a simple cleaning will get the solenoids working
again..

Tell us your history and mileage, as well as any CODES that you've had
read. Who changed your tranny fluid last, and what did they put in?

At the minimum I would want to know the resistance of the solenoids.  I had
a pair fail which led to a slipping or flare when going from first to second
gear.  Those lockup solenoids (on my '88 Prelude) were supposed to measure
between 12 and 24 ohms.  Both coils measured over 800 ohms.  I think the
assembly for the two of them was $115.
