Any impressions on the new Accords?  I'm interested in a EX-L V6 Coupe in
"Polished Metalized Metal Metallic" (what a name!).  My wife and I saw one
with black leather and thought it was stunning.  I was even more stunned by
the MSRP!  TIA.

Kind of ugly.  Too bad after the great looking new Civic.

Some one said that the new Accord looks like an old Saturn.  I agree.  Lots
of wrinkles in sheet metal doesn't make up for plain jane design.

The opinions seemed to be split down the middle, but most I've talked to that
don't like the Coupe have only seen pictures.  I think it looks like an Infinity
from the side, a Beemer from the back and almost Mustang-like in the front.  I
like it.

Now the sedan I don't like.  I've seen and driven one with the 190 HP engine.
The engine was loud and didn't shift smoothly.

The car has its ups and downs. My sister bought the EX Auto Sedan.

For one I think the seats are very hard compared to my Integra. Not
sure if they will soften as the years go on. Even my friends 06 300
has softer cloth seats.
The steering wheel is much smaller then our 6th gen Accord which makes
seeing the cluster sometimes difficult for me (I'm 6'1).
The car is very large, not sure if you are looking for something this
big, but I'd rather have the size of a TSX.
The 190hp engine is great. It has good pickup and shifts very
smoothly.

I would recommend that if you can, get a demo and take it out for a
few hrs to get the feel of the car.

To me it looks like a 5-series swallowed a Passat (or maybe the other
way around).

I'm assuming you were stunned because you thought the MSRP was high
.......or did you think it was reasonable ? Not trying to be a smartass , I
think you get a lot for your money with the new Accord

I agree..it seems like it should cost even more, for some reason.

Then again..I am talking about the black EX sedan w/tan-wood trim interior
that I bought.

The gray interior ones, and the LX model....don't get me too much.

I got this one:

Very nice and good luck!

Originally, my intent was to get rid of the 2000 Ody because my son now
drives his own car and no longer plays hockey, plus it's due for a timing belt
so I figured the time was right for a new car and originally was thinking
sedan.  After seeing the coupe I just thought it had a great look.  The bad
news is, my wife drives it while I still drive my 96' Accord EX sedan.  I do
love that car though.  My commute to work involves a lot of wear and tear.

Would be even sweeter in a new '08 Accord Coupe, you must admit :)

Oh..and you must *really* love your wife, 'cause you got it for her it
seems!

Let's not go too far here!   ;}

In the past, the arrangement by which my wife gets the new car has allowed
us to own Honda vehicles for 8-11 years.  I've been driving them since 76'
when I first bought a used Civic CVCC with manual choke, shiftable auto and a
cool wood steering wheel.  I loved that car.

He sounds A LOT whipped.  "I want new Hondas every couple of years, but
the only way I was allowed to do that was if I gave the car to my wife.
And she let me drive it every now and then!"

I guess just going out and getting one for himself was out of the
question...

Chill guys.  It was my idea not to kill the car and let my wife take it for her 15
minute ride to work.

The road I have to take to work is pot hole city with numerous accidents
everyday and I park in a lot known for bent fenders and busted bumpers.  And
I strictly drive the car when we're together and on weekends.  Considering
what I paid, I ain't taken any chances.  No way.  My 96' EX is perfect for my
commute and why you keep an old car around.

No, I think it was well worth it which is why I decided to buy it and I love it.
It's just the most I've ever spent on a car.  My 2000 Ody was about 3 grand
less.  Now I need to consolidate my debt!
