definitely!! a good the gas cap means the finger is now poiting to the
charcoal canister, as the cause of the CEL, that is
Now a charcoal canister may get saturated as a result of an over-
filled gas tank, or engine flooding. And i am sure that a defective
charcoal canister is the result, not the cause of your problem, which
is excess fuel on the intake, most likely a flooded condition
If you can start and run in this condition then i guess your ignition
components are strong enough. O2 sensor may still be good, but i'm
thinking that the injectors may be leaking, causing the engine to be
flooded over night

thanks for the reply.
But if it flooded over night wouldn't it be hard to start in the
morning? She has no trouble starting, she revs fine but on occasion
the cars idle drops and bounces and she almost stalls, but so far has
never stalled.
Also, I notice a smell from the exhaust but it i'snt like rotten
eggs ....it is a different stink. And there's a black stain on my
bumper.

it's not likely that all four injectors are leaking at the same time,
unless the fuel pressure regulator goes amock
you can start a Honda I4 engines with 3 cylinders running, the one
that gets flooded will struggle back to life later on and causes rough
idle momentarily and paints your bumper black while doing so.. That's
my theory for this scenario
I'm thinking one cylinder is affected. To find out which one is
flooded, disconnect the plug wires one at a time and start the car,
similar to the method of finding out the fouled plug without having to
remove all.

Ok thank you ill try that out, I guess it wont hurt to do a
compression test while i'm at it.
