Interiors are getting cheaper in ALL lower and mid-end cars. With so much money going into mandated emissions and safety systems, and with automakers unable to either pass the costs along or absorb them, they are cutting corners wherever they can. And the interior is an excellent place to shave pennies. I went with a nice looking grey vinyl, v.s. the standard foam-backed fabric ($225, vs $150). The visors on my 96 Civic EX were shredding when I sold it this spring. But that was about that. If you want interior quality, look for cars built in Japan. Civics and Accords are no longer built there. |
