Is the Odyssey done?

Heard a rumor that 2007 will be the last year of the Odyssey.  Looking at
the Honda website, I see all kinds of 2008 models shown, but the Odyssey
is specifically still listed as "2007", with no 2008 model.  What gives?

That would be odd.  They seem to sell a lot of them.

The magazines say the 2008 has been at auto shows, will be at the
dealers next week.  And a redesign is planned for the 2010 model year.
That doesn't sound "done" to me.

Well, that's right, if it's true.  Do you have any idea why the Odyssey
(and only the Odyssey) still only shows a 2007 model on the Honda website?

Why so impatient?  It is still 2007 you know...

Perhaps I want to buy a 2008.  This is the time of year when people do
that kind of thing.

It's just quite strange that *ALL* the other models are available as
2008's, but the Odyssey doesn't even show that on the website, much less
on the dealer's lot.

IIRC, the new Accord wasn't on the web site until it was released either, or
just before.  I seem to remember going to the site to check a couple weeks
ahead of the release and only finding images of a concept version from a
while back.

Perhaps all the other 2008s are shown because they are all currently
available for purchase.  Maybe that's just the way Honda does things,
possibly in an effort to not cannibalize current sales.

They seem to sell a zillion of them in Cary, NC.  No, I doubt they are done.

Where did you "hear" that?

There will be a 2008 Odyssey.  Honda has already announced it.  And the
Touring model will no longer *force* the buyer into those stupid PAX
run-flat tires.

From some other auto dealers, who wouldn't have any real reason to lie
about it, since they don't make a competing vehicle.  They could have been
wrong, of course.

> There will be a 2008 Odyssey.  Honda has already announced it.

Why isn't it shown on the website?  The Odyssey is the *only* model to
still show only a 2007 model there.  Where did Honda "announce" this?

Are you f.cking dense?

Honda does not put unreleased cars onto their site.  The Odyssey will be
on the site when they hit the dealers.

It would be stupid to advertise the new model before it hits the stores.
You continue to push the current model out the door until the last minute.

No, but you apparently are.

Oh, so they don't advertise the new models before they're actually on the
lot, huh?  See above regarding "dense".

The last minute has come and gone already, doofus.  If it's so "stupid" to
advertise the new model, why does *EVERYONE* else do it?  Are *ALL* of the
other 2008 Honda models available *RIGHT NOW* on your local dealer's lot?
If not, you're full of sh.t.

But you already knew that.

Yes, all of the '08's are on the lot, except for the Odyssey.  I was at
my dealer Monday.  They also did not have any '08 Si's, but that is not
uncommon.

I just checked Honda's site, and the 08 Ody is now listed, meaning it
has, at very least, been shipped.  You'll probably be able to find one at
your local dealer within the next couple of weeks, at the longest.

Horseshit.  I checked two dealerships close by, and they have hardly any
08's, of any model.

No, that you're full of sh.t.  Bugger off, boy.

Then you need a better dealer.  Had maintenance done on my '06 Monday.
Was there for about 3 Hours.  Not much else to do but wander around and
look at the new toys.  New Accords, Civics, and CR-V's were the ones I
looked at the most...

No, I think I had it right.  And I have your "boy" right here, troll...

The 2008 Odyssey will be released in just a few weeks. It will have a mild
facelift in the front grill area and slight change in the rear taillights.
