OK, so I have read the flames of late on people who want to use high octane
gas in their Hondas when it is not called for in the manual or required.
An interesting twist. I live in Manitoba, and as of Jan 1, gas has to have
10% ethanol in 85% of the gas sold here. Labels have appeared on pumps at
every station on the regular and mid-grade nozzles indicating that there
'could be' up to 10% ethanol in the gas.
The high octane doesn't have this label. Does that mean it doesn't contain
ethanol?
Given the lower energy value of ethanol, would it now make sense to buy high
octane fuel, if only to avoid using fuel with ethanol in it? There is a $0.
10/L price difference.
