I had to leave my car double-parked for over 2 hours at night so I had the flashers on. I didn't think it drained that much current but I had to jump it to get it started. Time for a new battery? Over 2 hours of flashers is probably enough to run a good battery down. A factory battery can go pretty fast after a couple of southwest summers. Two hours of flasher use isn't really that much. The NTB guy here told me that the high desert is the worst. 100 degree days, 40 degree nighs. In the same 24 hours. We've been pretty lucky in Austin the last few days. We had the third highest number of 100+ days for the summer this year (1980 was the worst, with 91 of 93 days over 100). Might not be a bad idea to have the alternator checked, too. 2 hours on flashers should not have drained the battery. |
