Hi all, thanks for the responses for my question on the type of engine oil I
should use. Now for another question. What if you changed the oil before the
break in period is up? From what I read, there is a break in period before
you were to change the oil. Will this have a dire effect on the engine or
not? What would be the best solution for this situation?

Thanks in advance,

Savalas

It may or may not cause any problems to change the oil prior to the break
in period--so why take the chance??
Your best course of action is to follow the instuctions in the owner's manual.

Well the thing is, the car didn't come with an owner's manual which had to
be ordered afterwards so I wouldn't actually know what to do in this
situation.

Oh, sorry, I forgot to give that info, it's a 2004 Civic LX with an
automatic transmission, the engine type i don't know exactly but I think
it's a "115-hp, 1.7-liter, 16-Valve SOHC 4-Cylinder Engine". I got that from
the Honda website when building the car similar to mine.
