I ran a VIN report on this car,
VIN 1HGCD7250SA009704 1995 Honda Accord EX
121,000 miles, red coupe, auto
Local lot is asking $4500
I see the car is a NY fleet/lease car.
(sent to auction after 2 years/25,000 miles. is this normal?)
then at 102,000 it was at auto auction again???? this seems odd??
Then it looks like someone put another 15,000 miles on it and it shows up at
another auto auction.
This car has been at auction 3 times. I understand the first time coming off
a fleet/lease but the other two at 102,000 and 121,000 miles seems odd.
Also, what would the 104,000 mile, independent source indicate???
Thanks for nay help you can offer interpreting these findings.

I'd make the assumption that the initial sale of this car was on a Honda 2
year lease program, at which time, when the car is turned in, an auction
could be used as the source for the leasing company to liquidate the car.
I'd have to suspect the car was traded in at a dealership for a new car and
that car dealership decided to wholesale it out via the auction process.
Does MA have a vehicle inspection law that requires the vehicle to undergo a
DMV reegulated inspection at some point? Some states do.
$4500 for that particular car sounds like a decent deal, if the car is in
good shape. I'd get it inspected independently before buying though, just to
be sure.
Just my thoughts and am open to someone with other opinions.

Your assesment sound valid! I do intend to have it inspected independantly.
Anything I should be aware of on this car?
Long time Toyota owner, Never had a Honda.

That generation of accords are pretty sound as far as I'm concerned. I have
a 94 accord ex...virtually identical to the 95 and it runs fine. Only
problems I've had with it are the cv joints went, which is nothing major and
is expected for the most part after 10 yrs, and some rattling heat shields
which aren't a big deal either. I just bought my 94 accord about a year ago
for $6300 CDN which works out to about $4500.00USD so your price sounds
about right.

First time honda owner myself. Honda timing belt needs to be changed
at 105k miles. Check that's been done, along with the water pump. Also
check alignment.
I replaced the fuel filter and spark plugs on the Civic when I got it.
I also planning to change the PCV valve on my new used Civic. Would
the Accord be the same? Engine mount seems to need replacing on a lot
older Hondas (causes rough idle). Check the brakes and top up the
fluids. That's all I can think of.
Oh, and pick up a copy of the factory repair manual on Ebay.
