Greetings To All - The local Honda dealership troubleshot my overheating problem and stated that it was the "cooling fan timer" (radiator timer) that needs to be replaced. I have a 92 accord lx 4 dr. 2.2, and they want $170 USD for the part and $80 USD for labor, or about two hundred and fifty bucks. Seems high! My question: Does anyone know where I can order an equivalent part for less? This part seems to be very hard to find online. Also, can I replace it myself? If so, where is it located and what do I basically need to do? Again, couldn't find much info. on this through my Chilton or Hayes books, nor on the net. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Paul Can't speak for your specific car, BUT on an 84 Civic HB it's located- Under the dash near the steering wheel shaft, kind of "hanging out in the air". It's a black, plastic box approx. 3.5" X 3.5" X 7/8" thick. There should be 7 wires going to it. It's kind of a spendy part, but $80 labor sounds very excessive, especially if you're on the "skinny" side. You reach up, pop it from the bracket, dissconnect the wire plug, then reverse the procedure with the new part. You should be able to save $ on the part from one of the "online" places. Hi - I really appreciate your reply. With your directions I managed to find the thing, under the driver-side dash, left side. It is hidden up high and can't be directly seen, but I felt around for it and verfied with a mirror that it was the right part. Another helpful person on this board directed me to one on Ebay, which I grabbed tonight for a grand total of 15 dollars. This is a WHOLE LOT BETTER than $250 parts and labor from the dealer!
