I have a new '04 Civic EX 2 door with auto transmission. The alleged fuel consumption numbers are 31mpg city and 38mpg highway. I do about 40 percent highway to 60 percent city driving. So far, for 2 tanksfull of gas, I have hovered between 28 and 29 mpg average. This seems a bit low to me...I was expecting 33 to 35 mpg on average. What do other Civic EX owners get? Wait until you have at least a couple of thousand kilometres or miles on the vehicle, then watch your fuel consumption. Pay attention to your driving style, a light foot is going to reap better fuel mileage than a heavy one. Also, looking far enough down the road in front of you, allows you to ease up and not use the brakes thus saving fuel, when getting back up to speed.  SignatureBrian I love being married. It's so great to find that one special person, you want to annoy for the rest of your life. I have a 2003 Civic EX and get 33mpg highway cruising at 75 mph with the cruise control on. I switched to 0-30 Mobil 1 and the economy dropped. I went back to the Honda 5-20 weight oil.
