I have a 1988 Prelude S with the 2 L 2 carb SOHC engine.  I'm still
working the kinks out of it and when I had my air conditioner serviced
the mechanic told me he thought this car had a idle control module that
seems to be missing.  When I start the air conditioner it idles at very
low rpm's.  Does anyone have any knowledge of this module?

The air conditioner idle control is part of the carburetor control system which
you already have.  Perhaps the red wire from the control box to the idle boost
solenoid valve on the engine side of the firewall has been disconnected.  Check
for voltage at connector B10 of the control box or at the solenoid itself.

Is your PGM-CARB warning light on?

If you apply positive battery voltage to the solenoid, does it operate?

Maybe the solenoid is just not holding the vacuum.

Thanks for the information.  I am getting a dealership service manual
soon and I hope that will be even more help.  I will check it out and
maybe I can find something that doesn't look right.
