I HAVE A 1988 HONDA CIVIC THAT BLEW A HEAD GASKET I CHANGED IT AND NOW IM GETTING A PINGING SOUND COMING FROM UNDER THE VALVE COVER.ANY THOUGHTS ON WHAT IT IS IM LOOKING FOR WOULD BE HELPFULL >I HAVE A 1988 HONDA CIVIC THAT BLEW A HEAD GASKET I CHANGED IT AND NOW IM > GETTING A PINGING SOUND COMING FROM UNDER THE VALVE COVER.ANY THOUGHTS ON > WHAT IT IS IM LOOKING FOR WOULD BE HELPFULL We need a better description of the sound - is it really a dinging sound or is it more like a ticking? Does it get quieter or fade away as the engine warms up? And did you set the valve clearances when you reassembled it? (Also, it is bad form to post in all capitals... it's considered "shouting.") Don't put any tap water (Hondacide) in there. Air in the system can throw off engine temp sensors / confuse the computer. 'Curly' |
