Have a slow engine oil drip from the transmission area near the shift cable.
Oil pan is clean, valve cover clean, PVC clean.  Leaning towards a rear main
seal, but hope not.  Any other places that would leak in this area?

Thanks, Tom

Rear main seal would leak through the vent hole in the bellhousing.

You need to get the engine professionally cleaned to get rid of the crud,
then add some UV dye to the engine oil. Run the car for a bit, then inspect
with a black light.
