Because if you had a Honda alarm, it would need to know if the door was
popped open, and it can figure that out if it saw the interior light
come on. The Honda alarm sat on top of the radio, in that odd 'slot'.

The door switch is needed by both the alarm and the ceiling light.
Since these functions are independent, a splicing of the wire would
have been enough...
Anyway, I shorted these two wires and now the ceiling light turns on
when needed.
