2001 Honda EX   (V6 with 105,000 miles)

Is the EGR something that tends to need cleaning or replacement?

Thanks for any help,

EGR port clogged or EGR valve has failed.

This is a known problem that is covered under TSB 99-085. There is an
extended warranty.

Your car may be covered under the warranty, but you need to visit your
dealer to be sure.

Thanks Tegger,
I don't know where you get all your information or where you find the time
to help everyone the way you do but keep up the good work!
In your spare time could you study up on Chevy Silverados, I have a few
problems in that category also.

You're welcome. And you can thank the other regulars here. I learn from
them too.

Post your Silverado questions to the group rec.autos.tech. Some excellent
GM specialists in there.

Thanks again Tegger,
I will do that, but I would rather you bone up on GM. I can always use a
second opinion!

PS: Diving in the cold NH waters dulls the brain cells so I need all the

By the way, your trouble code is P0401, with the character after the "P"
being a ZERO.
