accent rad fan

anyone know  why our '99 accents rad fan runs sometimes from a cold start?
makes warming the car up alot slower in the cold mornings..
anyways i couldcheck something out myself sensor etc? thx :)

First, check for dtc's.  If the ecm detects a cooling system fault, it will
turn the fan on.

sorry fogot to tell u also the check engine light came on n off the otherday
aswell...

cant check any codes with out a reader...
if there one on the market i could buy and use for myself??

You'll need an OBD-II code reader.  Some places, such as Auto Zone, do this
for free.  Preferably, you'd use one which actually reads the data stream
as well as dtc's (Diagnostic Trouble Codes).  Start here.  This may lead
you to the issue with the fan motor.
