I purchased a 2005 Tucson V6 GLS on Nov. 26. Since that date I have had
actual possession of the vehicle for a total of six days.
Five minutes after I drove it off the lot it started bucking and racing
uncontrollably. I immediately returned it to the lot. After some days they
told me that "the cruise control cable was set too tight at the factory."
I was assured that all was correctred and I should have no problem. During
the following five days I noticed that the brake peddle was going almost to
the floor.
I returned the car to the dealer. After three days, I was informed that the
Master Cylindar was leaking and they would order a new part.
1 week later I was informed that there was no Master Cylindar in the entire
country; that one had to be ordered from the factory.
I suggested that they remove one from another Tucson and place it on mine so
I could have the car I paid for some time ago.
The next day I was informed that a Master Cylindar was removed from another
Tucson, but it leaked too.
Here I am, 26 days later, without the car I AM MAKING PAYMENTS ON!
To say that I am losing my enthusiasm for Hyundai, for the Tucson and for
Service Departments in general is a large understatement.
I understand that it is a new model, but come on ...

Try to hang in there. Did they offer or give you some alternate
transportation?

Normally I don't recommend this (especially since I like Hyundai), but
you may want to look at the California Lemon law. I believe you are
past the requirements for what is called "rescission of contract". I
think if you say those words, you may get some action. Call (or even
more fun show up at) the office in Fountain Valley. By the way,
Hyundai hasnever caused me any problems and has always offered a
loaner car whenever a car had to be kept over night (I was a 2, late
model Hyundai owner).

Sorry to hear of you unusual problems. I hope the dealer gave you a new
Tuson loaner. You might get a different new Tuson via exchange.

Contact Hyundai USA to get a new car. I did with my Sante Fe & got a
much better model for no bucks.................
Then find a new dealer.
