2004 Santa Fee AWD 6 cyl -- When moving the Trans. Shifter, it
feels/sounds like its hitting something metal and is hard to move
backward and forwards.

Mileage currently is at 14000 .  Would this problem fall under the
DriveTrain warranty or not ?

Thanks.

It should definitely fall under the "bumper to bumper" warranty.

'It should definitely fall under the "bumper to bumper" warranty.'

REPLY: Ill have to read my warranty ,but, i thought bu mper to bumper
was 12,000 miles . Sounds like it might be 36,000 miles by your reply.

Your bumper-to-bumper is 5 years/60k miles.  Just about the only thing it
won't cover are those items you're expected to do routinely yourself (such
as belts, brake pads, scheduled maintenance, minor adjustments).

And as a follow-up, since this is in the shifter, would a transmission
issue like that fall under the 10/100K warranty?
hyundaitech - 07 Nov 2005 23:52 GMT
It's possibly a 10/100 item, but probably not.  For it to be a 10/100 item,
it would pretty much need to be an internal trans issue or a defect in one
of the engine/trans mounts.  I can't think of any other possible causes
for this condition that the 10/100 warranty would cover.

Transmission sensors (vehicle speed sensor, input speed sensor, output
speed sensor, range switch, etc.) are not considered to be powertrain
parts and are not covered by the 10/100 warranty.
