2003 Santa Fe - AC comes ON, goes OFF, then back ON at startup

Is it a "design feature" or a sign of trouble that occasionally when we
start our Santa Fe the AC blower comes ON for a few moments, then cuts
out.... and then a few moments later comes back ON. It seems to work fine
after that. I wondered if there is some sort of delay that is just kicking
in late... some cars have a climate control delay so that hot air doesn't
blow out of the vents... it waits until the compressor has been going for a
few moments, and then turns ON the blower.

Anyway, any insight would be appreciated. We are coming up on the end of
our 60k mile warranty (used car) and I want to take care of anything amiss
prior to having to cover it myself.

Do you mean that the blower runs or that the a/c indicator lamp turns on?

Do you have automatic or manual climate control?

If you have automatic climate control, please answer the following as
well:

Do you leave it on when you turn off the vehicle?

Do you have it set to auto fan? (I.e., does it select the fan speed
automatically rather than you having selected particular speed at which it
will stay?)

Why do you ask if he leaves his climate control on ? I live in Vegas and
although its boiling hot most of the year I leave my climate control in my
XG350L ON and set at 68* all year round. Why Im asking is, are you about to
tell KWW something we should be awae of ?

I'm just trying to cover as many questions as possible so we don't have a
long string of questions and answers. If he's turns his climate control
off, and then it comes back on when he starts his car, there's definitely
a problem. That's all.

We don't have auto climate control. It just has the dial temperature
settings, and the dial for fan speed. I was trying to relate what happened
to my wife (2nd hand info) but will tie in one of my own experiences.
a) We leave it on AC all the time.
b) Rarely when we start the car the AC (blower) doesn't come on... or it
does for a second or two and then cuts out... but when we fiddle with the
controls (blower speed or upper vents/high&low) it comes on and is fine.

I wouldn't be asking with so little symptoms except that we purchased the
vehicle used (we do have all of its repair records) and with only 500 miles
left on the 60k mile warranty (before the purchased 3rd part extended
warranty kicks in) I want to take care of anything that needs attention.

Again, sorry.... not much to go on yet..... maybe it is nothing at all... I
mean, there is a slight clunking sound from the passenger rear wheel area
going slowly over bumps, but there appears to be nothing loose.... I guess
the vehicle is just too young to have diagnosable symptoms.... but I was
sort of hoping that if something did sound like a known issue that I could
hurry up and take care of it.

You've got a problem then. Probably in the ground in the blower switch.
The blower should stay on whatever speed it's set to (unless it's turned
off on the mode knob).
