I'd never buy a black or red car either,
>and very few white would be considered.
I had a 1970 white Maverick. Lost count of the number of
times I got hit, mainly by women drivers.
!) Stopped behind all the other cars at a red light, BANG!!
The lady jumped out of her Cadillac, What did you stop for?
Because all the cars in front were stopped at the Red light!
2) Another time slow traffic. BANG!! Lady in a Volvo,
she said there would be no damage, she has rubber bumpers.
3) Lady t-boned me after running a stop sign, the old Maverick
had a little bump, but her brand new car had extensive damage to
the light assembly. She didn't want her husband to know, so I said
mine was only minor damage and for her to go to a body shop quickly.
4) This time two migrant workers, no insurance, backed into it
in the parking lot.
I mentioned these incidents to a mechanic at a gas station,
he said it was because the car was white!!

Coincidentally, our first or second car was a !970 Ford Maverick, red,
automatic.
I think the price was about $2400 brandnew.
The car's Firestone tires were recalled approx a year later.
I wonder whatever happened to the Ford--Firestone relationsh....
Anyhow, not a great car: the Maverick, tho not as bad as:
Subsequently, a new 1973 Pinto yellow wagon--YUK (alternator was
unrepairable)
Subsequently, a new 1976 Grenada that sorta stunk of gasolene/exhaust
Ford made attractive cars that weren't very mechanically
sound--whatever happened to For..., well I hope they'll recover
by making a hybrid or whatever that everybody wants
