my car is 2005 elantra.  The hood release handle, which is located
underneath and to the left of the steering wheel, broke.  i can still
open the hood by pulling on the release cable (number 14 in the
diagram).
this link shows the diagram of what i'm talking about:

number 16 is broken.

do you know if i bring the problem to the dealer, that it's covered
under warranty?

Whether it's covered by your warranty will depend on why it broke.  If it
broke during normal usage, it should be covered under the 5 year/60,000
mile warranty.
