Brake noise 2003 Elanra

Rear brakes make groning noise when comming to stop .. 2003 Elantra ..
In shop couple of times ..cleaned adjusted lubed backing plate.. Stiil noise
.. any one have cure??

Are you sure the noise is coming from the rear?

yes apply emergeny lightly noise gone

so your foot is not on the brake pedal when your hear the noise, correct?

Do this in an empty lot: speed up to about 10 mph, put the car in neutral if
yours is manual, pull up the emergency brake hard and let it come to a stop.
If you can't duplicate the noise after doing that, take your to a dealer and
ask them to clean the drum brake and resurface the shoes' linings with a
sandpaper.

Do that only when you're absolutely sure that the noise is coming from the
rear.

Our '03 started to have some noise when the brake pedal was used to go from
about 4mpg to a  stop ( light braking ), dealer has two new drums on order-
goes back tomorrow for the install.......
