My 2003 Accent's owners manual talks about an interior air filter behind
the glove box. I found the spot but no filteris installed. Looks like on
e can be involved immediately with no cutting. Doed the dealer typically
stock the air filter elements?
Also the drivers side door window has a "Security Sticker"
This car apparently does not have a theft alarm but the sticker implies
that it does.
Does it or does it not?

The filter is available at the dealer. They should be able to look up
the part # for you. Unfortunately it is not available anywhere other
than a dealer that I know of so it will cost you 25-30 bucks.
Here's some easy instructions for istalation.

It filters the air inside the cabin.

the filter is probably for the AC. I have a filter in my corolla in the
same place and I have AC, If you don't have AC, there is probably no filter.
just my 2 cents

Every accent that is 00 and newer has a space for the filter. The
filter is not actually installed in all cars from the factory. My 01
base model had the original filter. My wife's loaded (can you really
say that about an accent)02 gl did'nt have a filter from the factory.
BTW both cars have AC. The filter may have been eliminated as a cost
cutting measure leaving an empty space for the diy person or
dealership to add it later.
The filter is designed to catch polen and dust as it enters the cabin
from the outside. You would really notice the diffence if you travel
a lot of dusty roads or you have alergies or even asthma.
