While researching diesel engines I came across the 90 degree pushrod
V6 in nineties Isuzus. Is this an Isuzu built engine or a GM corporate
engine?

It's a GM engine similar to a 2.8L used in the S-10. It's a little larger
displacement wise, 3.1L.

The 2.8 and 3.1 GM motors used in late 80's/early 90's Troopers and
Rodeos are 60 deg V6's.  Likely the 90 deg pushrod motor referred to
was a GM 4.3 V6 found in Isuzu Hombre Pickup, which of course is just a
rebadged and (slightly) restyled Chevy S-10.

BTW, the great little GM 60 deg powerplant has a Big Brother which is
pretty much a drop-in replacement for a 2.8/3.1; it's a 3.4 found in
Camaro/Firebirds '93-'95, and sold from GM as a new crate motor, HT
3.4.

Find out lots of info about this swap at the greatest Isuzu forum
around, at the 4X4 Wire.  Just do a keyword on "3.4 swap" and you'll be
amazed at the results.

BTW that 4.3 is a gas motor.  Don't know of any V6 diesel's in Troops
Rodeos or P'ups, they did have several different sizes of 4-cyl
turbodiesels.
