Hi all,

Recently bought a 2002 trooper 3.0TD with a blown engine, completely
re-built it, (re-bore, pistons, gaskets etc). Now re-assembled and timed
up correctly. All wires to and from the ecu re-connected. However shows no
signs of starting, simply turns over and over producing no smoke. "CHECK
ENGINE" warning light flashes in dash board, all other lights go out as
usual whilst turning engine over. What exactly does the "CHECK ENGINE"
light cover? any input greatfully recieved!

thanks Richard, UK.

You probably could use code reader/scanner. Standalone units are somewhat
expensive, there are PC interfaces available on the web. Check out
http://www.troublecodes.net/technical/scaninfo.shtml for reference.

FYI flashing CEL usually means way too rich/way too lean fuel mixture, but
there could be other cases when it flashes as well.

Try checking the O2 sensor.

Thanks for you're input chaps, found the problem, incorrectly aligned
fly-wheel, results in wrong sensor readings and so non-starter!

Hello everyone,
I have bought a 2000 trooper 3.0TD. I would be gratefull if anyone could
provide me with some drawing or explanation on how to correctly align the
fly-wheel.
Thanks,
Ruddy, FWI
