Any advice on this operation. I don't want to be doing it twice if I can
avoid it.

It's a BW65 Unit. I've ordered the seal just wondering on the best method of
removal and replacment.

The gearbox can be removed, if the car is on a hoist.
If not, remove motor and gearbox complete.

Hi,

One thing to look for it not the seal but the bushing that the
convertor rides in. If your transmission has high miles you might want
to install a new bushing.

Usually you can unbolt the pump assembly out of the bell housing and
carefully remove it to service it yourself or have another do it. Do
not use silicone sealant as ATF attacks it.

Thanks, I will take a peek at this as well. I've actually removed the Jaguar
engine now and bolted up a Sd1 BW65 to V8 Bell housing as I'm fitting a 3.5
v8. Given I'm using the Torque converter that came with the Rover V8 I guess
it would be wise to check the bushing too.

Does the pump assembly just draw out once unbolted or is there more to it
than that? Is it any simpler pressing the new seal in with the pump
assembley removed or does it  create further problems?

Cheers
Lee D
