any problems

The 1999 XJ8 was made with a Nikasil impregnated piston liner that caused
major recalls for Jaguar, Mercedes BMW and others.  The problems were caused
because they did not realize that Nikasil would not bear up to high sulfur
fuels.

Go to the GOOGLE and simply put in the word Nikasil and make your own
decisions.

Like Clark said, there are cylinder issues. But I would bet that your
engine has already been replaced. Symtoms of bad bores is poor idle and
lack of power.
