hiya,
How do I adjust the steering column on a '95 Sovereign (don't laugh too
hard, I've only sat in it for a few minutes)

You can use the knob for dimming the instrument cluster. up/down,
forward/back.
If no success you need big sledge hammer :) Try and you will find out.

Goodness knows what the other reply was all about! Many Jags (I don't know
your model) had a large paddle shaped lever just to the left and below the
dash. The lever pulls down (or it could be up!) and the steering column
can be moved. You then push the lever up (or down!) again *before*
driving. This is from memory and may not apply to your model.

Yeah, my '89 Sov had this lever but this later one is electric (well, I
assume so 'cos I can't find a lever!!)

Hint: Don't turn the knob but rather use it like a little joystick!
