X300, traction control, option?

my 1995 X300 3.2 XJ6 has, on the dash, a traction control fail warning
light, that lights up as normal when the car is started, so I assumed
I had traction control.

However recently the ABS warning light has been coming on
intermittantly (I suspect dirty sensors) but the 'trac fail' warning
light has not been coming on. Also yesterdays extremely slippery
conditions showed me that the ABS worked fine but I felt no traction
control 'at work'.

Do i have traction control?

could it be disabled and needs a fuse or something?

hiya,

Do you have a 'trac off' button on the right hand side of the steering
column? If not, you ain't gorrit.
You can feel the first stage of traction control at work when it pushes the
accelerator pedal back against your foot, the second stage you'll hear as it
applies the brakes.
No light shows on the dash when it's operating like it does on other cars.

no button, and never felt it doing it's thing through the accelerator
pedal. no sign of it as I was sliding around either.

eh well.

does anyone know what parts are required to fit it? is it just some
wiring and a switch to add?
