Hello there,

Does anyone know how to update the Database contained in the built in Sat Nav systems in the XK8??

Having owned a TomTom system, where it is possible to download and add an excellent UK/Europe Speed Camera Database to it (www.pocketgpsworld.com) , can one do the same via the Jaguar Data DVD with the POI (Points of Interest = Speed Cameras) added to that ??

Thanks,

Peter J.

If you have a cd or dvd based system you have to purchase the updated disk - usually for loads of dosh!
The TomTom, as most of these aftermarket units, works off of memory and was designed to be updatable.

Thanks for the reply OM - appreciated.

Is it possible to just copy the owned original DVD for the Sat Nav and then just add the Point-of-Interest (ie Speed Cameras) to the data info on the DVD you have just made -- and then use that DVD for updating the Sat Nav unit ??

Allthough you can copy the cd/dvd it is very unlikely you could add any data to it from another source.
New updated cd/dvd's usually retail at approx £150, you can sometimes find them on Ebay.
