'88 XJ6 blower switch

heater motor does not work on low, med or high, only works when on defrost.
Any ideas,

First off, there are two blower motors.  Make sure they are both operating
by turning on the switch and then pulling the fuse for one of the blowers.

Then go to http://www.jag-lovers.org/ebooks/view.php?Vbook=xj40&Vsection=9.1
and learn how to replace and repair the electronics that cause this failure.
It is VERY common on these cars
