The air conditioning on my 1990 XJ6 Sovereign does not appear to be
working correctly. The two side vents seem to be working fine, but the
middle vents no longer come on. Also the fan does not appear to be
adjusting speed when the system is set to auto (i.e. set to auto with
dial set to medium). Any ideas as to what may be wrong?

Thanks.

Chuck,
You either have a problem with the center vent solenoid or the vacuum
lines that lead to them  Here is the section for your 1990 XJ40 Sovereign
regarding center vents.
