I have one, and the other day a collector says to me, "Oh yes, the one
with the rear doors 4" longer!".
Does anyone know the various major model differences among these
similar looking cars - XJ6, Sovereign, Daimler, etc.?

Here's a copy of the brochure for 1990
http://www.jag-lovers.org/brochures/bro1990a.html
The Daimler was strictly a UK car.The Daimler name has not been sold on Jags
in the US since the 60s when Mercedes acquired the rights to it. In the
States the Daimler was called the VanDenPlas. It was the upscale version
of the XJ40 and included such things as fluted grill surround and rear
plinth and increased creature comforts. The XJ6 version was the down and
dirty version with none of the accouterments of the other two versions. It
had a 3.2 litre engine and cloth seats.

I have seen at least 1 early 90's vintage Daimler in Canada with the
steering wheel on the left side, similar looking to my Sovereign. It
was built that way - not a conversion.
Where mine said Jaguar, it said Daimler. Where mine said Sovereign,
it said VanDenPlas.
When you say "The Daimler was strictly a UK car." do you mean it was
"designed" in the UK, hahaha.
