1989 jaguar xjs v12 idle mixture

Hello Is there a way to adjust the idle mixture on these V12 motors
mine is running rich? Also on my dash above gauges the right side lite
stays on is this like a check engine light? if so is there a way to
check a code for the problem?

An XJS with OBDII compliant code reader connection was not available until
the 1996 model.

Ok thanks, My engine is running rich I pull a plug and the electrode
is full of carbon,Is there a way to adjust the mixture or
